The VIA NSD7200 is a compact storage server for next-generation server products in home and SOHO environments and is available to system integrators, OEMs and ODMs.
The same height and width as a regular CD, squeezing two full sized desktop (3.5") hard disk drives into its compact sleek chassis, the VIA NSD7200 is powered by a power-efficient VIA C7-D processor and VIA VX800 system processor, bringing extreme stability to always-on server applications.
The VIA NSD7200 is aimed at the ODM server market and can be customized to meet the needs of individual customers, including headless and non-headless configurations, a variety of chassis designs and customizable front panel LED configurations. Optional display and audio support is also available.
Measuring just 13.5cm x 12cm x 26cm (5.3"x4.7"x10.2"), the VIA NSD7200 is powered by a 1.5GHz VIA C7-D processor and supports up to 2GB of DDR2 SO-DIMM 667/533MHz memory. Two Serial-ATA bays with integrated power ports are mounted within the case, with a type I Compact Flash socket located discreetly beneath the motherboard for discrete OS installation
A Gigabit Ethernet port is provided for fast data transfer with optional support for a wireless 802.11 b/g module. A software WatchDog timer is included for system fail over protection.
The VIA NSD7200 supports Microsoft® Home Server, XP and Vista with Linux support including Ubuntu 8.04, SUSE Linux Enterprise and FreeBSD.
